We use a simple and effective four-step approach:

  1. Planning For Profit

    In a systematic yet sensitive way, we direct the preparation of a profit plan for the current or coming fiscal period. This includes a focused review of past results and interaction with all Partners, Associates and Staff.

    Clients invariably like their profit plans.

  2. Making It Happen!

    We then offer consistent hands on assistance and a management system to Make It Happen! which, in the course of our engagement, we teach to clients who may operate the system themselves in the future.

    As part of this process we offer our expertise in all areas of law firm management including; accounting, technology, marketing, human resources, profit sharing and succession planning.

  3. Ensuring Long Term Change

    Usually immediate and significant profitability gains are made as a result of the first two steps of our program. Additional funds generated must then be used in part to finance other more complex changes that are required. This often includes a partners or lawyers retreat.

    Most strategic planning processes fail. Our approach to long-term change, like our profit planning process, ensures success. It includes the review of relevant information from within a client's organization and in its environment, involvement of all parties in the process and a system of implementing the desired changes.

    The implementation process includes training, education and a redefinition of core values and competencies.

  4. Profitability Management

    Some clients wish to retain our services on a continuing basis after profitability is improved and needed strategic transition is complete.

    In those cases we continue to co-ordinate the preparation of the annual profit plan, lend administrative, personal marketing and technical support on an ongoing basis and provide assistance in dealing with unusual events as they occur.

    This leaves our clients free to concentrate on their clients without losing the profitability focus.
